Always Running Chapter 1

Always Running Chapter 1.

In the first chapter of Always Running by Luis Jose Rodriguez, he wrote a quote, "this is not your country". The reason why he wrote that quote is because when he was young his mother gathered him and her children to walk to Will Rogers Park and she sat with them at an empty bench but it turned out to be an American Woman's bench with her 3 kids of her own and she yelled at Luis's mother to get off the bench and, "this is not your country". His mother couldn't tell her much considering she did not know much English so they left but the phrase, "this is not your country." stayed in his head for a lifetime. Today in society there are still some people like the american woman treating immigrants that way because they believe that they don't belong here in the United States. The idea of not having immigrants here progressed in the year of 2016 when Donald Trump campaigned for the presidency yet the idea has always been expressed by some Americans.
